Punta Gorda Pathways

The Punta Gorda Pathways is a system of approximately 18 miles of Bicycle and Pedestrian Trails and Paths that connect the City’s neighborhoods, parks, and commercial areas.  The completed system will benefit residents and visitors alike, enhancing quality of life.  The Punta Gorda Pathways project is being funded through a combination of Federal Transportation Funds, 1 Cent Local Option Infrastructure Sale Tax, and private sector development projects.  This major infrastructure investment represents a down payment on the path to a more sustainable Punta Gorda.

 The City’s Linear Park transformed the historic railroad right-of-way, once the southern terminus of railroad service on the western coast of Florida, into a scenic trail. Connecting the Harborwalk, to the north, to US 41 at the southern end of downtown, the path traverses for approximately two (2) miles through the City’s historic neighborhood district.  Assessable from Linear Park Pathways are:
